Pilates Teacher Mentorship Program

What to Expect

This Program is great for all levels of teachers, experienced teachers ready to reassess and level-up or newer teachers working on establishing themselves, and it can also be amazing experience for a team of teachers from the same studio. Designed to help you understand who you are as a teacher, refine your teaching skills and understand education development, the group sessions will utilize thought provoking questions and intentional inquiry to engage us in collaborative discussions and lead you through processes to develop your teaching practice. Facilitated by Deborah Mendoza with featured guests like education/facilitation specialist Freddy Mendoza and movement educator Kelli Workman, discussions will include, application of the work to progress clients, communication and teaching strategies to expand your tool box, and growing both your personal and your teaching practice.

You will also receive individual guidance to enhance your professional and personal growth through private movement sessions and mentoring sessions. These sessions are scheduled separately with any of the Facilitators to make the most of your experience. This is a highly impactful opportunity to deepen your Pilates knowledge and refine your teaching methods in a supportive setting.

❋ Intentional Structure

We blend guided moments, open exploration, and space to reflect—so the experience feels both focused and fluid.

❋ Collaborative Energy

Connection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn just as much from the group as from the content itself.

❋ Expert Facilitation

Led by experienced guides who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose.

❋ A Supportive Space

Our events prioritize comfort, safety, and respect—so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.

Have a team of teachers you want mentored? I am happy to discuss how we can schedule a Private Program just for your group.

Inspired by my Mentors

Ron Fletcher studied with Joseph and Clara Pilates as well as Martha Graham. He had and intuitive understanding of “good movement” and a profound knowledge of movement sequencing and progression. I learned from him the importance of precision and presence grounded in a deep understanding of the fundamentals of Pilates and movement.

Karma Keintzler was a healer through movement. One of the founding inspirations for Canyon Ranch and leader of its exercise and movement therapy department for years. She had the ability to “see” the entire person at a glance and a “knowing” of where a movement needed to come from in each body. I experienced and learned from her the art of mentoring through seeing, supporting and valuing someone’s heart and soul.

Both were life long learners and valued continual personal growth and development to the last days of their lives. (photo credits: Ed Flores and Sophia Lyn Sims)

It’s just the tip of the iceberg  ·  Exploration is the work  ·  There’s no end to it
  • The mentorship program has been transformative for me not only as a teacher but as a student of Pilates. Not only am I able to see the body I am teaching in front of me with more clarity, but I have more confidence and trust in myself as a teacher. With the guidance of Deb and Freddy, I was able to be more specific in how I wanted to present myself and communicate in the studio and most importantly, become the teacher I want to be. I will definitely participate in this mentorship program again in the future!

  • "I am a big fan of Deb’s style of teaching and was so excited when the Pilates Teacher Mentoring Program was offered. I expected tips and tricks to become a better Pilates teacher, but what I received was so much more! Freddy’s input from an educator’s point of view was so valuable. I was taught how to mindfully approach teaching Pilates. I was moved on a deep level to share the work in a new way. Most importantly, I was inspired to find my own voice and to embrace my own strength as a teacher. Thank you!"

  • "This program was exactly what I needed at this point in my career. Deb and Freddy brought everything to the table with kindness and a passion for their respective fields of education and movement. They created a non-judgemental space that encouraged open and honest conversations about everything from the art of teaching to the ABC's! The balance between discussion and movement sessions helped me to assess who I am as a teacher and gave me a deeper understanding of my own body. I now have more clarity and a stronger sense of direction for becoming the teacher I want to be. I can see myself returning to this program again in the future."
